Prescription Snorkel Masks: Options for Glasses Wearers
Seeing clearly underwater with glasses: prescription lens options, stick-on readers, mask inserts and what to know before ordering.

Blurry vision underwater is not something you have to accept. Several practical options bring your prescription into a snorkel or dive mask — at very different price points.
Option 1: Stick-On Magnifiers
Soft plastic magnifying lenses bond inside the mask with water tension or mild adhesive. They cost little and suit occasional swimmers who mainly want help reading a dive computer or camera. The downsides are reduced optical quality and occasional re-positioning.
Option 2: Prescription Lens Inserts
A lens holder sits inside the mask skirt and carries ground lenses, kept completely separate from the mask itself. You can move the insert between masks, and the mask still works perfectly for other family members.

Option 3: Factory Ground Prescription Lenses
The best optical result: the mask manufacturer fits ground lenses into the frame in your sphere and cylinder values. This is the standard route for people who swim weekly. Expect to supply a recent prescription including pupillary distance.
• Sphere covers short- and long-sightedness
• Cylinder corrects astigmatism — worth including if above about 1.0 diopter
• Different values per eye are normal and handled routinely
What About Contact Lenses?
Contacts work with any standard mask and are covered in our glasses and contacts guide — but they carry infection risk in poor water and can wash out, so many regular swimmers still prefer ground lenses.
Ordering Tips
Confirm the mask passes the fit test first — a perfect prescription in a leaking mask is still a bad day. Our fitting guide takes two minutes to follow.
